House of Fraser to receive 11 new CROMBIE CONCESSIONS nationwide THIS WINTER
Crombie has always been regarded as a quintessential English gem of a label, that could be relied upon for excellently crafted outerwear and suits. Alas, with stores located in the more exclusive neighbourhoods, like Jermyn St, W1 (etc), it meant owning a piece of luxury heaven, required a long shopping trip into town — but, not for much longer.

Luxury department store House of Fraser, will be opening exclusive outerwear concessions, in 11 stores in the UK, this winter.

Launching on the 1st October 2009, House of Fraser will be the exclusive stockists of the iconic Crombie coats, outside of Crombies' existing stores and concessions. These outerwear concessions will operate from October until March each year.

And, with the traditional Camel coat seeing a return this A/W, Crombie (and its 200+ years of timeless design experience) will showcase a select collection of outerwear which will include the most sought after Crombie Covert coat and the popular King coat.

The eleven House of Fraser stores featuring Crombie outerwear concessions will be: Bristol, Reading, Croydon, Lakeside, Bluewater, Oxford Street London, Westfield London, Manchester and Nottingham. Additional concessions can be found in Glasgow, Scotland and Belfast, Ireland.

The new Crombie outerwear concessions will reflect the brands luxury British heritage and will reaffirm Crombie as 'the' coat maker for ladies and gentlemen.

In addition to these new concessions, the full collection of menswear, womenswear and accessories will be available at Crombie stores, existing concessions nationwide and online.

Dialog accessory collection by Cassandra postema and Dong Chiu AW 09

get up to speed with cassandra & Dong's dialog
This season, dynamic design duo Cassandra Postema and Dong Chiu certainly know how to strike up intelligent Dialog. Communicating a level of expertise, through their beautifully crafted accessory line, their A/W '09 collection delivers on aesthetics as well as alleviating the conscious mind from its guilt. And guilt seems to be a feeling that is playing heavily on fashionistas minds of late. If, like me, you are becoming increasingly aware of how your buying habits can have a negative impact on the planet, you are not alone. Encouragingly, Dialog have coupled their innovation with unwavering dedication to producing fair-trade fashion, to yield a level of transparency that is reassuring.

Available in two lines the first, Electric Sky, is a kaleidoscopic milieu of violet, electric blue and ultramarine, cocoa and forest colours, that are not for the faint-hearted. Clutches, totes and purses are intricately adorned with Dialog's signature contrasting folded fringing and are inspired by the cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong, when it is illuminated at night.

For A/W '09 also, Dialog debuts their new line World Butik. Incorporating tribal textiles sourced from around the world, each piece has a unique story to tell. In typical Dialog style, this line is imbued with the principles of fair-trade fashion and eco-sustainability. With their ideology of giving something back, Cassandra and Dong design with integrity. Both are committed to addressing the world’s continuing poverty crisis, so it should come as no surprise that Dialog is to donate a portion of their profits into communities for self-sufficient training and welfare.

Daria Werbowy and Matthew Williamson at the Launch of his H&M High Summer Party
MATTHEW WILLIAMSON AT H&M THIS SUMMER
It’s going to be a brilliant summer at H&M thanks to Matthew Williamson’s vibrant, sun-drenched collection hitting around 1,600 stores worldwide from 14th May.

As well as bringing his celebrated world-traveller styles for women, Williamson has designed his first ever menswear range, only at H&M.

“I love the fact that H&M have created a new phenomenon in fashion through the pioneering concept of collaborating with high end designers to create one-off limited edition capsule collections,” says Williamson.

The British designer has saturated his collection for H&M with the vivid colours and neon details that have made his work so famous.

“I think that perhaps as a reaction to the grey cold climate of England and the stark Manchester cityscape I craved colour and exoticism,” says Williamson.

“I want to share a glimpse of the Matthew Williamson world with H&M customers, by creating an aspirational lifestyle collection which is both exotic and fashion forward, providing the perfect wardrobe options for Summer 2009.”

Paul and Joe Volage 14-bl65 sunglasses
  Paul&Joe's Shaded beauties
It was inevitable. After the success of Paul&Joe's menswear collection in 1995, founder Sophie Albou went on to launch a womenswear collection and a diffusion line called Paul&Joe Sister — culminating in the opening of more than 30 boutiques worldwide. Now, the former student of the prestigious L'Institut Français de La Mode, is to launch her very own optical range — the perfect addition to the lines already in place at Paul&Joe.

Paul and Joe Volage 14-bl65 Sunglasses Albou's playfulness and youthful charm pervades her first optical collection, a quality she has taken from her two sons who's names she has used to call the label.

Her sophistication and feminity is apparent too, founded on an animal figurine and delicate lace details that Albou is so fond of.

Epitomizing her flare for fresh light colours, interspersed with animal prints and floral connotations, further design details are inspired by sunny days spent in the garden observing the flights of butterflies, the petal compositions of a rose and the beautiful subtle colours, that she has romanticised to perfectly enhance the unique frames of her designs.

Paul&Joe's sunglasses and optical range are on sale from Autumn/Winter 2009.

Sales of sandals soar at Fitness Footwear
Hertfordshire based online retailer Fitness Footwear, must be beaming as bright as the spring sunshine, after a record number of shoppers visited the website to buy from a wide range of sandals, outdoor and sports footwear, available there.

Must-have styles include the Fit Flops which has seen record numbers sold since early January. Marketed as the flip flop with the gym built in, Fit Flops are an innovative sandal which gives you a workout while you walk. This is all thanks to the integrated wobble-board midsole which slightly destabilising the foot with every step. The result is the slow twitching muscles in the legs and buttocks being activated for longer periods of time while walking, which rapidly burns off calories while toning these areas to result in slimmer legs and a smaller bum. It's obvious to see why they have been such a big hit for women with neither the time nor money to attend gym classes.

Pictured, Fit Flop Electra | Price: £43.95. Visit: Fitness FootwearTo cater for their loyal following of outdoor enthusiasts, Fitness Footwear has also made a wide range of walking sandals available from many of the biggest brands in walking boots, which include: Brasher, Merrell, Hi-Tec and many more well known names. The website even has a variety of Birkenstock styles, which have become a summer staple like Ugg have become a winter must-have in recent years.

After the freezing winter (which blanketed Great Britain in snow), weather forecasters predict a scorching summer to follow, so we could all be wearing shorts and sandals — in just a matter of weeks!

MATTHEW WILLIAMSON COLOURS H&M BEAUTIFUL
Ooh to be at the front of the queue that faithful day — Thursday the 23rd of April — when H&M opens its doors to another design collaboration destined to be talked about for months to come. British designer Matthew Williamson is the aforementioned designer to join forces with H&M, through the launch of an exclusive collection that will see his brilliant talent for colour — made accessible to all.

Marrying together iconic pieces from his past collections and brand new catwalk looks, the collection will display his flair for distinctive, eclectic prints and vivid colour pieces full of the influences and inspirations of a global traveller. From dresses to tops, all-in-ones to the sharpest tailoring, this fashion collection has all the key pieces for Spring 2009. Matthew Williamson says: “I wanted to create a strong urban collection fused with the brand’s signature symbols and shapes. It’s been fascinating to search back through my archives to isolate the most iconic pieces, then rework them for H&M. Colour is one of the defining aspects of my signature style, I focused on the iconic peacock motif seen across my collections to develop a palette of blues, chartreuse and emerald. The spirit of the collection is both covetable and precious."

Creative advisor at H&M, Margareta van den Bosch's ingenius knack for initiating H&M's frequent collaborations, said of her latest: “I think people will really love this collection. I love the way Matthew mixes prints in the dresses, and the colour-blocking of the tailoring. It’s very elegant, but there are lots of things you can wear in a really relaxed way, too. The mix and match of all the embroidery, the prints, the sequins and the colours makes all of the clothes very special."

This exclusive collection for Spring is only the first part of Williamson’s collaboration with H&M. From May 14, the perfect wardrobe for summer will be available in around 1600 H&M stores worldwide. Williamson has also designed a full menswear collection for H&M and this will mark his debut into menswear.
