Pure S/S '10

Pure London — 2 - 4 August 2009
There was a lot of excitement when the first model walked down the runway at Pure's Catwalk Show on Sunday the 2nd of August, 2009. Wearing a sumptuous leather jacket in a buttery beige, the item of clothing signalled the arrival of a new player at Pure. Supertrash, a brand that is expanding at a staggering rate globally.

The striking name in no way reflects the quality of clothing on offer. Designed by Olcay Gulsen an entrepreneur of Dutch / Kurdish heritage, the label has a high fashion contemporary feel, that certainly raised the bar at Pure this year. And, Supertrash wasn't the only one. Sadly not featured in the catwalk show was Italian label 1One (represented by Andre Laufer International Fashion Agency), another great find for buyers catering for customers with sophisticated taste. A short distance away, London Fashion Week regular Betty Jackson's Two label, also packed a fashionable upmarket punch for S/S '10.

Other delights, this show, included: Womenswear label Aryn K's edgy jackets, cute dresses and metal ring vests | European atelier Bronté/ID Hats | Emami's versatile, multi-way jersey dresses | Nûmph's colourful clothing and Unze London's — over the knee — embellished stiletto boots.

B.young
B Young at Pure London 2-4 August 2009

B.young
Brand: b.young
Products: Never a label to scrimp on style, b.young has delivered a strong collection of wearable separates and all-in-one jumpsuits.

Rolled-up sleeve boyfriend jackets are teamed with loose sequin t-shirts and harem pants, for a smart day look. Peg leg trousers are enhanced with features like low slung pockets, whilst distressed skinny — white, grey and indigo — jeans are co-ordinated with flattering over-sized tops, that incorporate a diluted form of 'strong shoulders'. Jersey single colour tops worn under beautifully draped waistcoats — with gathered detailing along the shoulders and front panels — are also included in the collection.

The trend for leather jackets (one of the 'must-have' items for A/W '09 — along with leather skinny trousers), continues through to summer but is given a make-over in terms of colour and shape. Gone are the studs and the biker themes (along with the bottom skimming lengths), to be replaced by shortened or cropped versions. Although classic black features, so too does grey and beige hues.

Other colours worked into the collection are: uplifting bursts of coral (used for tops and comfy leisure suit jackets) and lilac and purple (used in graphic and ditsy floral print dresses and tops).
